A longtime leader of the X-Men, Scott Summers has the Mutant ability to release beams of pure concussive force from his eyes, requiring him to wear special ruby quartz lenses at all times to keep his power contained.
Swept away to the year 2099 by the Timestream Entanglement, Cyclops ended up in Nueva York and was targeted by Alchemax. After his visor was damaged while protecting Moon Girl, who was accidentally caught in the conflict, Alchemax imprisoned Cyclops and used his Mutant ability to create a powerful new form of Chronovium.
